Privacy at a glance — three key statements:
This Privacy Policy explains how Fly-Right LLC ("Fly-Right", "we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the E6B Max iOS app (the "App") and the website at flyrightconsulting.com (the "Site"). It is written to comply with the requirements of the Apple App Store, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA), Quebec's Law 25, and Brazil's Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD).
E6B Max and the flyrightconsulting.com website are designed not to collect personal information from users:
This Privacy Policy applies to the E6B Max app and to the flyrightconsulting.com website. It does not apply to third-party services we link to or connect to (such as the Apple App Store, aviationweather.gov, the eCFR, or Apple Maps), or to email correspondence you choose to send us, which is governed by your email provider's terms.
Fly-Right does not collect, request, store, transmit to our own servers, or process any of the following:
The App stores the following information locally on your iPhone or iPad. None of it is transmitted to a Fly-Right server (we do not operate user-data servers):
App data is protected at rest using iOS Data Protection. If you enable iCloud Backup, Apple will include the App's local data in your encrypted iCloud backup; that backup is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not ours.
Some features of E6B Max retrieve information over the internet from public government or public services. When you use these features, the App makes a standard HTTPS request that includes only the query you entered (for example, an airport identifier, a region, or a regulation part number). No account, name, device identifier, or other personal information is sent. We do not embed these providers' advertising or analytics SDKs; we simply request public data and display it.
As with any internet request, the receiving service may automatically log technical metadata such as your IP address under its own privacy policy. Fly-Right does not receive, store, or have access to those logs, and cannot associate any request with you. These features require an internet connection; the App's calculators, weight & balance, nav log, instruments, and unit conversions work fully offline.
The App is distributed exclusively through the Apple App Store and is sold as a one-time purchase (there is no subscription). The purchase price is the amount displayed on the App Store at the time of purchase (or your local-currency equivalent). Apple — not Fly-Right — handles all aspects of payment, billing, refunds, and receipts through the StoreKit framework and the Apple ID associated with your device. Fly-Right does not see, store, or have access to your name, billing address, payment-card number, Apple ID, or other Apple account information.
Apple provides Fly-Right with anonymized aggregate sales reports (e.g., total units sold in a country during a month) for tax and accounting purposes. We cannot derive individual user identities from these reports.
Restore Purchases / Family Sharing. If offered, restoring a purchase or using Family Sharing is handled entirely by Apple via StoreKit; Fly-Right requires no login or account information. Refund and billing inquiries are handled by Apple at support.apple.com/billing or reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple's handling of your information is described in Apple's Privacy Policy and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
The App does not offer in-app account creation, registration, or sign-in, and stores no server-side account record. Because we do not create user accounts, the in-app account-deletion mechanism required by Apple App Review Guideline 5.1.1(v) is not applicable. To permanently remove all data created in the App, delete the App from your device — all locally stored content is removed. Apple may retain a record of the purchase under your Apple ID, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. If you believe Fly-Right has retained personal information about you, email inquiry@flyrightconsulting.com and we will respond within 30 days.
The App requests the minimum permissions, and only the first time you use a feature that needs them:
The App does not request Camera, Photos, Contacts, Calendar, Microphone, Bluetooth, Speech Recognition, HealthKit, HomeKit, or Notifications. The App does not display the App Tracking Transparency prompt because it does not track.
The App does not send push notifications and does not request push-notification authorization. If this changes, we will update this Policy and obtain your iOS-level consent first.
This Policy is consistent with the Privacy Nutrition Label Fly-Right has filed for the App:
Category mapping: Contact Info — not collected; Health & Fitness — not collected; Financial Info — processed by Apple via StoreKit, we do not see it; Location — used on-device only, not collected; Sensitive Info — not collected; Contacts — not collected; User Content — stored locally only, not transmitted to us; Browsing/Search History — not collected; Identifiers — not collected, no IDFA; Purchases — processed by Apple, we receive only anonymized aggregate reports; Usage Data — not collected, no analytics; Diagnostics — only if you opt in via iOS Settings, anonymized by Apple; Other Data — not collected. Report any discrepancy to inquiry@flyrightconsulting.com.
If you have enabled "Share With App Developers" under Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may send Fly-Right anonymized crash logs and performance metrics. These contain no name, Apple ID, IDFA, or personally identifiable information. You can disable this at any time; doing so will not affect your use of the App.
flyrightconsulting.com is a static website hosted by a commercial provider. Like virtually all web servers, the host automatically records technical request logs (IP address, browser type, page requested, time) used solely for security and operational troubleshooting by the provider. Fly-Right does not keep a copy of these logs, does not link IP addresses to individuals, and does not use them for analytics or marketing. The Site contains no forms or login fields other than mailto: email links, which open your own email program.
The Site does not place tracking, advertising, analytics, or fingerprinting cookies. The App does not use cookies, does not use the IDFA, and does not use device fingerprinting.
Fly-Right does not use Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, AppsFlyer, Adjust, Branch, Facebook/TikTok pixels, or any other analytics or attribution service. The App and Site contain no advertising and no third-party advertising SDKs. We do not engage in cross-app or cross-site tracking or behavioral advertising.
The App and Site are tools intended for pilots and aviation students. They are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), require no account, collect no personal information from any user, and contain no user-to-user communication. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact inquiry@flyrightconsulting.com and we will respond promptly.
Because we do not collect personal information, we do not share personal information. The narrow exceptions: Apple Inc. handles all App Store purchases as the payment processor; our web-hosting provider processes server requests when you visit the Site; and the public data services in §5 receive the query text you enter. If we ever receive valid legal process, we will disclose only information actually in our possession — which, because we collect nothing, is typically nothing. We do not sell, rent, lease, or trade information.
Fly-Right does not sell personal information for monetary or other valuable consideration, and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the CCPA, CPRA, VCDPA, CPA, and other state privacy laws. We have not done so in the preceding twelve (12) months and have no plans to do so, and we have not knowingly sold or shared personal information of consumers under sixteen (16) years of age.
Because we do not collect personal information, we have no retention period to disclose. Information you create in the App is retained on your device until you delete it. Apple's anonymized aggregate sales reports are retained for the period required by tax and accounting law (typically seven years).
No system is completely secure. If a security incident affects information we hold, we will notify affected individuals and regulators as required by law.
Fly-Right LLC is based in the United States, and the Site is hosted in the United States. The App is distributed worldwide via the Apple App Store. Because we do not collect personal information, no cross-border transfer of personal information occurs as a result of using the App or the Site.
Even though we do not collect personal information, applicable laws give you rights we honor: the right to know/access, to deletion, to correction, to portability, to opt out of sale/sharing, to non-discrimination, and to lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority. To exercise any right, email inquiry@flyrightconsulting.com with the subject "Privacy Rights Request." We respond within forty-five (45) days, or sooner where required by law.
Under the CCPA/CPRA, the following categories are all not collected by Fly-Right: identifiers; personal records (Cal. Civ. Code §1798.80); protected classifications; commercial information (subscription/purchase transactions are processed by Apple); internet/network activity; geolocation; sensory information; professional/employment information; education information; inferences; and sensitive personal information. Shine the Light (Cal. Civ. Code §1798.83): we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing.
Because Fly-Right does not collect personal information, we are typically not acting as a "controller" or "processor" under the GDPR or UK GDPR with respect to users of the App or Site. Should this change, we will update this Policy with the legal-basis disclosures required under Article 6 GDPR. You may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority — EEA: edpb.europa.eu; UK: the ICO at ico.org.uk; Switzerland: the FDPIC.
The App does not perform tracking as defined by Apple's ATT framework. It does not link user or device data from the App with data from other companies' apps or websites for advertising or measurement, and it does not share user or device data with data brokers. Accordingly, the App does not display the ATT prompt.
The App and Site contain links to, and retrieve public data from, third-party websites and services (see §5), including the Apple App Store, aviationweather.gov, the eCFR, and Apple Maps, and the App can open the FAA NOTAM search and other official resources in your browser. Fly-Right is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by these providers, and receives no compensation for linking to them. When you open a link, you leave the App; the destination's own privacy policy and terms govern your interaction with it. The App does not log, transmit, or store which links you tap.
We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" and "Effective" dates above reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through the Site or, where feasible, within the App. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
